DataFirst didn't start in a boardroom. It started with traders who were tired of fighting their own tools: outdated, cluttered platforms that were hard to learn and slow when it mattered. So we built the one we wanted to use.
“We built the terminal we wished we had.”
The DataFirst team
We got tired of fighting our tools.
Every trader on our team had the same routine: a legacy charting package, a separate options tool, a spreadsheet, a browser full of tabs, and a lot of squinting. The data was out there. Reading it fast was the hard part.
The platforms we paid for felt like they were built for someone else. Menus inside menus, harsh colors, settings nobody could find, and prices made for institutions. Learning them took weeks, and they still lagged when the market moved fastest.
So we started building our own: one screen to see where dealers are positioned, where the walls sit and what the flow is doing. It began as an internal dashboard we traded from every day. Today it's DataFirst, a terminal we're proud to put in front of other traders.
What was broken, and what we built instead.
The problemHow DataFirst handles it
Interfaces stuck in another decadeA modern terminal that looks good and stays out of your way, so the levels are the first thing you see.
Five windows to answer one questionExposure, flow, levels, heatmaps and replay in one workspace, linked to the same ticker and expiry.
Weeks of setup and manualsSensible defaults on every view. Open it, pick a ticker, and you're reading dealer positioning on day one.
Lag right when the market movesReal-time data, recomputed as the book changes, built to stay quick when the session gets busy.
Institutional prices for individual tradersPro-grade options analytics from $49.99 a month, with an optional free trial and no contract.
What we believe. The rules we build by.
01
Simple beats complex
If a view needs a manual, we redesign the view. Every screen should answer one question clearly.
02
Fast is a feature
A level you see a minute late is a level you missed. Speed is designed in, not bolted on.
03
Good looking matters
You stare at your screen all session. Calm colors and clean layouts make that easier, and make mistakes rarer.
04
Built with our traders
Features come from our Discord, live sessions and 1-on-1 calls, not from a roadmap written in a vacuum.
